A Confluence of Shapes
I will be returning to the Blue Moon Gallery in Grayslake IL where I was a Founding Member Artist 5 years ago, as well as an annual Collective Artist, with a new SOLO EXHIBITION featuring my latest GEOMETRIC ABSTRACTION paintings and assemblages.

Freeport Art Museum 19th Annual Juried Regional Multi-State Exhibition
I’m so happy to announce that my painting “Meditation Companion” was chosen for the Freeport Art Museum 19th Annual Juried Art Show.
This exhibition showcases artists from a multi-state region — Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
On view May 6-July 29.

It just opened on Friday, January 9, and is on display through January 28. The Artist Reception is closing night, January 28, 530-730pm.

Oak Park Art League Members Exhibition
The Oak Park Art League, located in the historic district of Oak Park IL, is wrapping up its Centennial year with a Fall Centennial Members Exhibition. The Oak Park Art League is one of the longest continually running non-profit arts organizations in the state of Illinois and once rented Frank Lloyd Wright 's Studio in the 1920's and the 19th Century Women's Club in the 1930's. The gallery is within walking distance from Frank Lloyd Wright’s famed home & studio as well as Ernest Hemingway’s birth home.
To celebrate the centennial member artists are invited to show one work of art that best exemplifies their current art practice.
If you haven't seen "Symbiotic Circles" yet, from my "both sides" series, now is your chance! The venue is a 100-year-old converted carriage house that is now a stunning art space plus a lovely courtyard and great staff. This is going to be a wonderful show in a great space.

Come see an amazing array of fine art in this highly popular annual exhibition!
Museum of Wisconsin Art Annual Members Exhibition
"City at Sunset" will be included in the Annual Members Exhibition at the Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend, WI coming up on September 18. This is a new venue for me and it's very exciting. Up to 250 pieces will be in the exhibition.
The exhibition celebration is Saturday, September 25 | 2:00–4:00pm.

CAVA Later Impressions 2021 Juried Exhibition
"The Energy Within" (31x29, Acrylic, Framed) has been juried into the CAVA "Later Impressions 2021" Exhibition in Chicago which will be held at the Bridgeport Art Center September 1-October 22.
CAVA is the Chicago Alliance of Visual Artists and is an organization that offers artists over 50 years of age opportunities to show their works in galleries and art centers primarily in the city of Chicago.

In-Person Painting Demonstration
I will be painting in person at the Blue Moon Gallery and sharing various creative approaches to my “both sides” paintings, including the wet-and-dry painting technique I use in my “Geometry is Beautiful” series. I’ll also informally talk about my overall process, including the patterns and sketches I pre-plan, the cutting and gluing stages, and the final step of outlining, while I paint.
Guests are welcome to visit the gallery and see a collection of “Both Sides” paintings currently on exhibit.

Words Matter Exhibition Highland Park Art Center
My painting “Sign of the Times” will be presented at the Highland Park Art Center in the “Words Matter” exhibition August 6-September 25.

This is going to be a really cool show exploring the relationship between art and language in our culture-at-large and, particularly, how language is being used in social media and mass communication (e.g., billboards, commercials, etc.)
I created "Sign of the Times" in direct response to the 2019 mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton. I hear people of all ages and from all backgrounds speaking up about gun violence. But do their words matter? How is it that our legislators do not seem to hear them? Can a visual image help?
With "Words Matter" the Highland Park Art Center is exhibiting art that exists in the intersection between visual expression and language.

This summer I am one of several featured artists at the renowned Red Oak Restaurant in Bristol WI —- an awesome farm-to-table restaurant that creates its menu through its support of local farms, dairies, breweries, wineries, orchards and bakeries --- AND it supports regional artists!!
Wonderful food, all fresh and delicious, plus a beautiful farmhouse-style ambience with a huge river rock fireplace, lanterns, fresh flowers, and wood floors.
There are several artists in the restaurant right now showing & selling their work for the next few months (through Aug 31) -- I am showing a selection of abstract geometric paintings as well as some of my watercolor & colored pencil works — check out this wonderful establishment!
